Who Are We?

The ClassicalU admin team is a group of passionate advocates of classical, liberal arts education. Some of us are educators and others are designers, artists, web developers, or business and marketing professionals. All of us, however, are seeking excellence in classical education for ourselves and for our children.

The team is led by Dr. Christopher Perrin, an experienced leader in the renewal of classical education, former classical headmaster, author of books and articles about classical education, and frequent consultant and speaker to classical schools, homeschooling communities, and conferences.

What Is ClassicalU?

Our Partners

We know that we go nowhere alone. ClassicalU works with and is dependent on a number of valuable partners also seeking to renew classical education. We work closely with the Society for Classical Learning (SCL) and the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS) and provide discounts to members of both organizations. We are also collaborating with others active in the renewal of classical education, including the Circe Institute (we admire its apprenticeship program), Helme.io (school budgeting application), and several colleges and other organizations.

Our Faculty

Our faculty presenters are experienced and talented mentor teachers from around the United States. Through our network of relationships and work within the classical renewal, we have sought out some of the great mentor teachers serving around the country.

Our Inspiration

We are inspired by the classical tradition and the ongoing renewal of classical education in the United States and many other countries around the world. The great ideas and literature contained within this tradition inspire us. We are also inspired by the thousands of parents, teachers, and students who are being blessed and humanized by their engagement with this tradition. In addition, we enjoy working with many other professional partners (even our competitors are good friends!) who are seeking to advance the renewal of classical education. These partners and competitors are an inspiration to us, and we learn much from them.

Our Mission

ClassicalU seeks to provide a clear path toward mastery for classical educators, school leaders, and parents who desire to understand the classical tradition of education and to teach with excellence. For more on how we envision this path as a three-step process over years of training and study, see our article “The Apprentice Model: A Journey toward Mastery.
